On June 19th, Indeksonline published a news article with the title \"KFOR doesn't allow Kosovo's Special Unit to go to Leposavic.\"<\/p>\n

The article claims that KFOR was positioned at the entrance of Leposavic and had prevented Kosovo's Special Unit from going to the municipality of Leposavi\u0107. \"KFOR has set up a barricade at the base in an area called 'Nothing Hill',\" the news article<\/a> states.<\/p>\n

The fake news spread through other media outlets as well: Veriu.info<\/a>, Bota Press,<\/a> Shqiptarja<\/a> etc.<\/p>\n

However, despite media reporting, all of this has been refuted by the Kosovo Police. They have denied today's reports that the Special Unit of the KP was not allowed to go to Leposavi\u0107 by KFOR. The spokesperson of the KP, Baki Kelani<\/a>, stated, \"We inform you that all planned and designated police units on official duty are performing their tasks in the field.\"<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)<\/a>, has stated that its units were deployed in the four predominantly Serbian municipalities in the north to deter violent demonstrations, which were organized to oppose the newly elected municipal leaders from assuming their duties in the municipal assembly buildings. The protests occurred as a result of the boycott<\/a> of the local elections<\/a> held in northern Kosovo on April 23rd.<\/p>\n
