On April 5, she stated that the sign had been placed with the approval of the Mayor of Plav, Nihad Canovic. She said that such an act is not only offensive to Albanians in Montenegro but also poses a risk of ethnic division and new tensions. According to her, the approval of this sign implies a silent institutional endorsement \nof Serbia\u2019s claims over Kosovo.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The approval by the Mayor of Plav, Nihad Canovic, to place a sign suggesting that Peja (Kosovo) is part of Serbia has created a dangerously tense ethnic climate in the region. The sign, which implies that Montenegro supports Serbia\u2019s claims over Kosovo, is not only offensive to the Albanian minority in Montenegro but also risks deepening ethnic divisions and potentially leading to unrest,\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Hoti wrote on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Meanwhile, on Sunday she <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kaltrinahoti78\/posts\/pfbid026aNBNYe6DU19xMzSSmP8kRWZrL8jNoS3Pp36CKjbtyFt17hPteJBv2yoUZ2ifdQ4l?__cft__0=AZW7j4JFCPRV_9EQH84ucLGQ-RGvGhuYECk0NMGWCSFQp94AUow_Zn2D1Wc9US5xGUuwcTV4rUWWOPa-uOUHVXk4a0ZPQpRNhdkHhTJrpbPtyaNgg4_Q1ewin5h1ARgf5TBZvk2qPJL5hxtkZgX6kpp7QOiBqrpgKnoGhuQU-x4RXA&amp;__tn__=OP-R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">posted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> a photo showing that the sign had been removed.
