Following his scandalous statements about his position on the situation in Ukraine, Croatian President Zoran Milanovi\u0107 has been added in the Myrotvorets (Peacekeeper) database. He is accused of acts of humanitarian aggression against Ukraine and is called an accomplice to the Russian invaders.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his remarks, Milanovi\u0107 said that Ukraine does not belong in NATO and that Zagreb will recall \"every single\" soldier from the Alliance army and distance itself as much as possible from events, if the situation between Russia and Ukraine escalates. In addition, Milanovi\u0107 said that the Revolution of Dignity was a <\/span>coup d'etat,<\/span><\/i> and that the European Union did not help Ukraine in any way.<\/p>\n

\"Until you understand that Serbia and Russia are not the same, this is, unfortunately, a painful fact and a danger. We annexed Kosovo - we and the international community. It was taken from Serbia. Who did it but us? Did we recognize Kosovo? We did. It's not annexation, it\u2019s expropriation; what is it called? Extraction - it is all the same. This is not questioning Kosovo but the whole concept. Likewise, <\/span>Crimea will never be Ukraine again<\/span><\/a>. That's what the leading German generals are saying,\" <\/span>Milanovi\u0107 said<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier, Milanovi\u0107 said that Croatia should not provide military assistance to Ukraine and that sending <\/span>Western tanks<\/span><\/a> to Kyiv would only serve to prolong the war. to Kyiv would only serve to prolong the war. In addition, commenting the government's position on the EU training mission for the Ukrainian military, Milanovi\u0107 suggested that Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovi\u0107 should fight himself in Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since Milanovi\u0107 did not approve Croatia's participation in the EU training mission for the Ukrainian military, the Croatian parliament rejected the proposal for the country to join this mission. Milanovi\u0107 angred both Kosovars and Ukrainians.<\/span><\/p>\n

Myrotvorets \u2013 a dabatase of Ukranian enemies<\/b><\/p>\n

Myrovorets (Peacemaker) was founded by an elusive employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, who apparently has close ties to the Ukraine\u2019s domestic intelligence service SBU, <\/span>known by the<\/span><\/a> pseudonym \u201cRoman Zaitsev\u201d. The site publishes data about people considered to be enemies of Ukraine or \"whose actions have signs of crimes against Ukraine's national security, peace, human security and international law.\"<\/span><\/p>\n

No one has ever seen Zaitsev himself. He appears with a covered face in his Facebook page with the title: \u201cthe head of the information Gestapo since 2014 and the \"head of the department\" of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in the Luhansk region.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Wikipedia claims that Myrovorets was founded by the former deputy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the odious Anton Herashchenko, and the former head of the Luhansk military administration, Heorhii Tuka.<\/span><\/p>\n

From the very beginning, Russian propaganda and some Ukrainian mass media persistently promoted the idea that these indivudals were in charge of Myrotvorets. In November 2019, it became known that the idea to set up Myrotvorets generated from Eduard Matiukha, an intelligence officer of the GRU of Ukraine\u2019s Ministry of Defense.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On May 7, 2016, the list of personal data of about 4,000 journalists who at one time received so-called \"accreditation\" in the \"DPR\" was published on Myrotvorets. Hacking separatist computer databases allegedly obtained it. At the same time, Myrotvorets accused all these journalists of collaborating with the separatists.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prominent Ukrainian and foreign journalists demanded Myrotvorets to immediately remove the free access information on the personal data of media employees.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Such irresponsible comments and actions endanger the safety of journalists and human rights defenders and violate their right to privacy,\" Human Rights Watch said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Their sources of information are primarily publicly available materials from the Internet and printed publications, and private individuals under confidentiality conditions. It uses OSINT methods in its work.<\/span><\/p>\n

Myrotvorets was always looked with some suspicion in Ukrainian and international public. At least two people were killed days after their personal details and home addresses went online.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2017, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights called on the Ukrainian authorities to investigate the site's activities and force it to delete personal data. As of February 2023, the site Myrotvorets is still working and publishing personal information online.<\/span><\/p>\n

The organization claims that it cooperates with Ukrainian authorities, including the Security Service of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the State Border Service, and the State Penitentiary Service. They claim they assist the state in finding indiviuals who are deemed to undermine Ukraine\u2019s national security.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Security Service of Ukraine has denied any connection to Myrotvorets and has stated that it does no relationship with them. They have also stated that no person called Roman Zaitsev is or ever was an \"employee, officer, or adviser\" of the SBU.<\/span><\/p>\n

Human rights activists have been campaigning for the termination of Myrotvorets from the very beginning. The Russian side has repeatedly appealed to European officials to put pressure on Ukrainanian authorities. Any user can add a person to Myrotvorets, provided they offer evidence. If you want to add someone who simply threatens you for your pro-Ukrainian views, it is not possible to do so without valid screenshots and links.<\/span><\/p>\n

During a discussion, a few of my former classmates and neighbors threatened to torture me for supporting Ukraine. Although such indiviuals represent a minority, their voice is important in their communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

People who support Ukraine cannot be heard, because voicing their support is extremely dangerous. In such an extreme hostile environment, one Ukrainian word can be a death sentence.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Zaitsev, as of March 21, 2016 \u2014 57,775 people were approved on the website. However, during the full-scale invasion, the number has gone up exponentially. The quickest way to get on \u2018the list\u2019 is by illegally traveling to Crimea through the territory of Russia, as well as by making public anti-Ukrainian statements.<\/span><\/p>\n

To conclude, Myrotvorets is just a so-called NGO and has no power in persecuting Milanovic. In any case, such statements from the president of Croatia, which went through a similar war in the 1990s, are very disappointing to Ukrainians, who count on unwaivering support from their allies in their quest for freedom and victory against Russia\u2019s aggression.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
