In the last week of November, two women were killed by their husbands. The first case happened on November 25, where the woman, a teacher, was killed with an ax by her husband in the early hours of the morning. Meanwhile, the other murder was committed on November 30 in the yard near the Gynecology department at KKUK, where the man shot his pregnant wife to death.
These shocking events have evoked numerous reactions in the public opinion, both from officials of Kosovo institutions, as well as from civil society and citizens of Kosovo.
All the media, without exception, have reported on these cases, often competing with each other as to which one is publishing them faster, while some of them have not paid attention to verifying the news before publishing it.
One of the online mediums, Gazeta korrekte, has published an article entitled "The ex-husband took his own life, the witness who saw the event: She told him to think about the child he was going to give birth to" [sic].
Moreover, the content of this news contradicts the title, because the title is misinforming and misleading. So, we are dealing with 'click-bait'!
So, the content of the text does not justify the title given by this medium, which seems to have had the purpose of misinformation regarding this disaster.
This "news" violates the professional and ethical standards of a professional journalism that aims to profit through disinformation of public opinion.
The case, which shocked the public, is being investigated by the judicial authorities. Two days after the murder of his ex-wife, and wanted by the police, Doras committed suicide in his home in Shtime. He committed the act, despite the efforts of the police to convince him to surrender.
