Today, we have launched a series of advocacy meetings with key institutional representatives in the country, as part of the project “Combating Extremism in Kosovo,” supported through the Matra program of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kosovo.
The purpose of these meetings is to present the findings and recommendations of the research report published at the regional conference held on January 29, 2025, in Pristina, as well as to distribute the relevant toolkit, which aims to provide practical guidance for institutions and stakeholders involved in this field.
Today, we held a meeting at the General Directorate of the Kosovo Police, specifically in the Community Policing Division, where we were welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel Zylfije Dema and Major Ramadan Ahmeti. During this meeting, we discussed the implementation of the report’s recommendations and ways to integrate them into the current policies and practices of the Kosovo Police.
The police representatives showed interest in the research and expressed openness to exploring future collaboration opportunities. They emphasized the importance of inter-institutional coordination and community involvement in preventing extremism. In this context, we shared copies of the report and toolkit, aiming for them to serve as a valuable resource for police structures in their efforts in this field.
Moving forward, we will continue meetings with other key institutions to deepen the dialogue and support the practical implementation of the research recommendations.
