Today, we held the second meeting in the series of advocacy meetings within the framework of the project "Combating Extremism in Kosovo," supported through the Matra program of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kosovo. This meeting took place at the Kosovo Probation Service, where we had the pleasure of discussing with Adem Shala, Head of the Division for the Execution of Measures and Alternative Sentences, and Gentiana Pira, Senior Officer for Minors in the same division.
During the meeting, we shared a copy of the report and toolkit published at the Regional Conference held on January 29, 2025, in Pristina. The report and toolkit contain in-depth analyses, practical guidelines, and recommendations on effective strategies for preventing and addressing extremism.
The discussion focused on the research findings, the importance of the guidelines and recommendations in the report, and the need for close inter-institutional collaboration. Representatives from the Kosovo Probation Service shared their experiences and challenges faced in their efforts to prevent extremism in Kosovo. They welcomed the report and toolkit as valuable mechanisms that they could use as a reference in their future work.
This meeting marked an important step toward strengthening collaboration with key institutions in this field, creating new opportunities for joint actions and a more effective approach in addressing the challenges of extremism in Kosovo.
