After the recognition of Israel in September 2020, Kosovo struggled to achieve any new recognitions for over four years. However, this long stagnation was broken on March 26, 2025, when Kenya recognized Kosovo. Three weeks later, Sudan announced that it would recognize Kosovo. On October 26, Syria followed suit, bringing the total number of recognitions to 112, excluding the eight countries that have withdrawn recognition as a result of Serbia’s derecognition campaign.
